Sous Chef
Behind the scenes, working within our La Cala kitchen is Jaime Nieto, one of our Sous Chefs who is always creating something delicious for our guests. You’ll find Jaime on most days inside our Clubhouse Bar & Restaurant together with his team to oversee our restaurant orders, as well as our menus for our special weddings and events.
Jaime has been part of our La Cala family for the past 15 years, and he was promoted to Sous Chef in 2020. As a child living in Andalucia, he was captivated by the intriguing aromas in his family kitchen, and soon found himself cooking with his mother as well as creating new recipes based on traditional methods. Following his culinary studies, he broadened his expertise to French and Italian cuisine as a chef working along the Costa del Sol.
When asked about his recipe for success in the kitchen, Jaime states “Aside from really loving the art of cooking, a positive attitude is the most important trait needed to overcome any situation that arises.” He adds, “my greatest pleasure is to see the many empty plates that return to the kitchen, which confirm that are our guests are enjoying their meals.”
